Wild Food School designed the Pocket Urban Foraging Guide to give you basic information on the most common edibles found in "temperate northern urban environments". So, this means even though it was written for the UK, most of the species included are common throughout North America as well.
The guide introduces the reader to foraging by briefly discussing: legality, etiquette, safety, and tolerances to wild edibles. 20 wild edibles are discussed in detail, and another 30 useful plants are listed at the back.
This is a great beginner guide, it's FREE, so it's a great way to see if you have an interest in foraging. If you enjoy the past time (and free meals) make sure you invest in a field guide appropriate to your area.
